I have something I’ve been working on behind the scenes that I’m so excited to finally share with you! And if you’ve ever opened your camera roll, looked at approximately 4,000 photos, and somehow still had no idea what to post on Instagram, I think you’re going to love this. โ˜บ๏ธ

Meet IdeaKind, an Instagram content creation app I built to help moms, creators, and small business owners turn the photos, videos, and ideas they already have into content they’re genuinely excited to share. It helps you come up with better Instagram post ideas, write captions that sound like you, plan your content, learn from what’s working, and organize brand partnershipsโ€”all without spending your entire afternoon figuring out what to post.

But before I tell you how it works, I want to tell you why I made it. Because this idea has been a long time coming.

I’ve Been Creating Content Since 2013. And I Still Get Stuck Sometimes.

I started blogging in 2013, back when Instagram looked very different and sharing online felt a whole lot simpler. Over the years, I’ve built a business, started a podcast, worked with brands, and shared more little pieces of everyday life than I could possibly count. And somewhere along the way, content creation became both something I genuinely love and something that requires a surprising amount of decision-making.

You probably know the feeling. You have a photo you love, but you’re not sure what to say about it. You have an idea for a Reel, but can’t quite figure out the opening line. You want to share something helpful, but wonder whether anyone will actually care. Or maybe you have a whole collection of photos from a perfectly ordinary Tuesday, and you just can’t see how any of them could become a post.

I’ve been there plenty of times. Even after more than a decade of creating, I still find myself overthinking things that should be simple. And I’ve realized that having plenty to share and knowing how to turn it into good content are two very different things.

Motherhood Changed How I Wanted to Spend My Time

Becoming a mom has made me love creating content in a completely different way. I have so much more I want to remember and share: little family traditions, things we’re loving at home, routines that make our days easier, and all the ordinary moments that somehow become the ones you wish you could revisit.

But I also have a lot less time to sit at my computer wondering how to turn those moments into Instagram posts. And I don’t really want that time back at my computer, either. I want to spend it with my family. I want to enjoy our home, go to the farmers market, read another book with Ollie, or simply have an afternoon that doesn’t revolve around getting something done.

At the same time, I still love creating. I love the community I’ve found through sharing online, the creative opportunities it’s brought into my life, and the possibility of building meaningful income around something I enjoy. I don’t think those things have to compete. I wanted a way to keep creating and growing without making content creation the center of my day.

And that’s where IdeaKind began.

Why I Created IdeaKind

I kept wishing I had something that already understood the kind of content I create. Something that knew I love sharing about motherhood, home, everyday favorites, and the little things that make life feel good. Something that could look at a photo from my camera roll and help me see a genuinely interesting story worth telling.

And something that could help me think beyond simply getting another post published. Because there’s a difference between posting more and creating content that actually connects with people. I wanted help coming up with stronger ideas, finding a more interesting angle, writing in my own voice, and paying attention to what my audience was responding to.

I also wanted everything in one place: my ideas, drafts, content plans, brand partnerships, and the little sparks of inspiration that usually end up scattered between my Notes app, screenshots, and approximately a million saved Instagram posts.

So I decided to build it. I called it IdeaKind.

The name felt right because I wanted creating content to feel a little kinder. Less overwhelming, less complicated, and more encouraging. And after spending so much of my life building things online, getting to create something that solves a problem I’ve personally experienced has been especially meaningful.

What Is IdeaKind, and How Does It Work?

IdeaKind is an Instagram content creation and planning app designed for moms, lifestyle creators, and small business owners who want to create better content without spending hours figuring out what to share. You can start with a photo, a video, a little idea you’ve been thinking about, or absolutely no idea at all. From there, IdeaKind helps you find a direction, develop your post, and bring everything together.

Here are a few of my favorite ways to use it.

Turn the photos already on your phone into Instagram posts.

This is one of the things I was most excited to build. Maybe it’s a photo of your morning coffee, a favorite corner of your house, a Target find, or something you picked up at the farmers market. You can bring that photo into IdeaKind and explore different ways to turn it into a meaningful post. Not every photo needs to become content, of course. But I think we’re often sitting on so many more good ideas than we realize.

Find Instagram content ideas that actually feel like you.

If you’ve ever searched for Instagram post ideas and ended up with a list of suggestions that could apply to literally anyone, you know how frustrating that can be. IdeaKind uses the information you share about yourself, your audience, and your goals to help you explore more personal, relevant content ideas. The goal isn’t to make everyone post the same thing. It’s to help you recognize what makes your own experiences interesting and worth sharing.

Write captions, hooks, and Reels with more confidence.

Sometimes the hardest part of creating a post is simply figuring out how to begin. IdeaKind can help with opening lines, captions, carousel copy, Reel text overlays, voiceovers, and other pieces of content creation. You can refine what it creates, change the direction, or keep working until it feels like something you’d actually say. That’s really important to me. I don’t want IdeaKind to replace your personality. I want it to make sharing your personality a little easier.

Keep your ideas, drafts, and content plans organized.

One of my biggest struggles has always been remembering where I put an idea. Was it in my Notes app? A screenshot? An Instagram saved folder? A message I sent myself? IdeaKind gives you a place to save ideas, work on posts, return to unfinished content, and plan what you’d like to share.

I especially love being able to start something, step away, and come back to it without starting from scratch. Because sometimes you have ten minutes to create, and sometimes those ten minutes turn into someone asking for a snack. ๐Ÿ˜…

Learn what’s working so you can make more of it.

I’ve learned that growing on Instagram involves a lot of experimenting. Some posts surprise you. Some don’t perform the way you expected. And sometimes something you almost didn’t share becomes exactly what your audience needed. IdeaKind helps you track your content and look for patterns in what resonates, so you can make more informed decisions about what to create next.

It’s not a promise of more followers or viral posts. It’s a way to become more thoughtful about what you’re sharing, instead of constantly guessing.

Keep brand partnerships organized, too.

If you’re beginning to work with brandsโ€”or hoping toโ€”IdeaKind can also help you organize collaborations, keep track of deliverables and deadlines, and develop content around partnership briefs. I’ve learned how much work can happen behind the scenes of a single brand collaboration, and I wanted a way to make that part of creating feel more manageable, too.

What Makes IdeaKind Different From Using ChatGPT?

This is a fair question. You can absolutely use ChatGPT to brainstorm Instagram ideas or help write a caption. The difference is that IdeaKind is built specifically around the process of creating content for Instagram.

Instead of starting a brand-new conversation every time, you can build a creator profile around your voice, audience, content themes, and goals. Your photos, ideas, drafts, planning, and creative guidance can all live together. And as you add information about how your posts perform, IdeaKind can help you use those insights when deciding what to create next.

I wanted the experience to feel less like explaining your entire life to a blank chat box and more like picking up a conversation with someone who already understands what you’re working on. Of course, you’re still the creator. You make the final decisions, edit the words, and choose what feels right to share. IdeaKind is there to make those decisions a little easier.

Who Is IdeaKind For?

Although motherhood was a big part of what inspired me to create IdeaKind, you definitely don’t have to be a mom to use it. I built it for moms who want to start creating content but aren’t sure where to begin, lifestyle creators who have plenty of photos and ideas but need help turning them into posts, and small business owners who want to show up more consistently on Instagram.

It’s also for bloggers who want to grow an audience, creators exploring brand partnerships, and anyone who enjoys sharing online but wishes the process felt a little less time-consuming. You don’t need a huge following, a professional camera, or a perfectly curated Instagram feed. You can begin with what you already have.

My Biggest Hope for IdeaKind

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it means to build something meaningful while also enjoying the life you’re building it around. I love being a mom. I love creating. I love having ideas and making things and seeing where they lead. But I don’t want to look back and realize I spent all my favorite ordinary moments worrying about how to share them.

I think there’s room for both. Room to be creative and ambitious, and room to close your laptop and enjoy your afternoon. Room to grow something you’re proud of without feeling like you need to document every second of your life.

That’s really what I hope IdeaKind gives you. Not just another way to make Instagram posts, but a little more confidence in your ideas, a little less second-guessing, and a little more time for everything else you love.

Want to Try IdeaKind? Here’s Where to Start.

IdeaKind is available now, and you can try it free for seven days. My suggestion? Start with a photo you already have on your phone. It doesn’t need to be anything special. Maybe it’s a favorite coffee shop, something you recently bought and loved, a little moment from your weekend, or a photo you’ve been meaning to share. Upload it, explore a few creative directions, and see what you come up with.

And if you try IdeaKind, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think. This is something I’ve poured so much thought into, and knowing it’s helping someone else make creating feel a little easier would mean the world to me.
