The Weekly Edit: Big Feelings, Big Plans, and a Week Full of Moments

Each week, The Weekly Edit is a collection of what life has looked like lately: the moments I want to remember, the things I’m loving, and a little honest reflection on this season we’re in.

This Week in a Word: Full

Full of feelings. Full of excitement. Full of those small moments that somehow end up meaning the most. This week had a little bit of everything: pride, happy tears, big plans coming together, and the kind of gratitude that sneaks up on you when you’re least expecting it.

A Graduation, a Whisper, and Happy Tears

This week, Ollie officially graduated from her 2-year-old gymnastics class to her 2.5-year-old class, and I will not pretend I kept it together. 😅 Watching her walk into that gym with so much confidence, ready for something new, I just couldn’t help it. We started gymnastics when she was 18 months old, and to see how far she’s come is something I genuinely can’t put into words. She’s so brave and bold, and she jumps so high!

But the moment that really got me this week? Potty training has been on our radar, and this week, Ollie is truly leading the charge herself. She whispered to herself, “I’m a big girl.” Cue more waterworks from mom. 🥹

That’s motherhood, isn’t it? You spend so much time cheering for every new step forward… and then they take one, and your heart somehow aches and soars at the exact same time. Whether it’s the last gymnastics class at a certain level, sizing up in her favorite pajamas, or the slow approach of the end of diapers… each little transition is its own tiny goodbye and its own beautiful beginning. I’m proud of her every single day. She is articulate and silly and thoughtful, and she has the kindest heart. This week she’s been especially full of hugs and family snuggles — always asking for our “family hug” — and I’m just soaking in every single second. Truly.

(For anyone beginning the potty training journey, we’ve been loving our training toilets here and here, the Honest Company Potty Training Bundle, and some of Ollie’s favorite books: Girls Use the Potty, Ready to Go Pee, Ready to Go Poop, Potty Time with Bean, and Let’s Go Potty Elmo.)

Looking Ahead: Summer Plans Are Taking Shape

We signed Ollie up for her summer activities this week, and I am genuinely so excited. We’re looking at music class, a sports class, and more — and knowing how much she loves being around people and trying new things, I just know she is going to absolutely thrive. Any chance we have to be outside, together, soaking up summer as a family? I am fully here for it.

We’re also deep into planning Ollie’s 3rd birthday party. Her choice was a rainbow theme, naturally. We’re talking rainbow balloon arches, rainbow cupcakes, and all the color and joy she deserves. I’ve already designed the invitations, alongside Ollie, and I cannot wait to bring it all to life.

And then there’s Disney. This week we finalized more of our plans for Ollie’s first Walt Disney World vacation this summer, and the excitement in our house is at an all-time high. (Ollie and I made a paper chain so we could count down the days!) Ben and I both have such a deep connection to Disney World — it’s where he proposed, it’s a place we’ve returned to again and again — and sharing it with Ollie for the first time feels like something I can barely put into words. I shared everything about how we’re planning this trip with a toddler right here — from where we’re staying, to the rides we’re most excited for, to all the packing essentials. (Ollie’s already talking about taking pictures with her very own camera.)

A Little Thing I’m Loving

I picked up this woven throw this week, and honestly — I was not prepared for how beautiful it is in person. The texture, the quality, the fringe detail… it’s one of those things that looks lovely in a photo but feels even better when you’re actually holding it. We draped it in our sunroom / playroom and it instantly warmed the whole space up. If you’re looking for something cozy and a little elevated, this one is worth it.

On Putting Yourself Out There

A few weeks ago, I made a decision to start sharing my story and perspective on social media more consistently — really showing up, being present, being me. And what’s happened since has genuinely surprised me. The growth, the community, the kindness from people I’ve never met… it’s been so special and so unexpected.

In just a couple of short weeks, I’ve been presented with opportunities I never could have anticipated. (One in particular that I cannot share just yet… but let’s just say it involves a screen a little bigger than your phone. More soon! 👀)

There’s something so freeing about deciding to believe in yourself and then actually acting on it. I’m proud I took that step. If you’ve been sitting on something — a dream, an idea, a version of yourself you haven’t quite shared yet — I just want to say: it’s worth it. You’re worth it. Put yourself out there.

Thank you so much for being here and for reading along. This little corner means so much to me, and so do you.
