Since learning we were expecting, I haven’t worn jeans. 😅 Because I work from home, I rarely wear jeans anyway — but as my pregnancy bloating became a real baby bump — I especially haven’t worn jeans. I am 5′ 1″ so I knew I needed to find maternity leggings for petite women, which wasn’t as easy as I’d hoped.
I tried a couple of different brands offering maternity leggings — Spanx and Blanqi — and ended up returning both. Then, when I had to take a break from exercising because I could no longer fit in any of my workout leggings, I knew I needed to find some dependable brands. So, after some trial and error, I’m excited to share my favorite maternity leggings for petite women!
My Favorite Maternity Leggings for Petite Women
- Spacedye Love the Bump Maternity Pocket Midi Leggings from Beyond Yoga: These leggings are easily my favorite listed here. They are extremely soft, relatively seamless — except for the waistband under the belly, which is understandable and not so bad — and they reach my ankles perfectly without any rolling necessary. Currently, at 15 weeks, the belly area is a bit loose, but I know with a bigger bump, they will fit perfectly. For now, I tuck the front of my sweater or sweatshirt in, and that works just fine.
- Maternity Leggings from Old Navy: I purchased 3 types of maternity leggings from Old Navy: Elevate Powersoft 7/8 Leggings for exercising (When available, I often buy 7/8 leggings, because they can be full-length leggings for petite women!), Rib Knit Leggings for everyday wear and lounging, and this bundle of PowerChill 7/8 Leggings and Biker Shorts. Pro: They are a bit thicker and feel more substantial than the Beyond Yoga leggings. Con: The fabric is not quite as soft as the Beyond Yoga leggings.
- Monica Maternity Ankle Leggings from Threads 4 Thought: Just like Old Navy, I was happy to see Threads 4 Thought offers an ankle-length legging, since those tend to be perfect full-length leggings for petite women. Just like Old Navy, these leggings are thick and substantial. They’re great for everyday wear!
One other legging-alternative I’m waiting on in the mail is the Kate Bumpsuit — which I’ve read is extremely comfortable. Overall, I’m finding comfort is key, and I plan to be living in cropped sweaters and sweatshirts and maternity leggings all pregnancy long!
