006: 3 Strategies to Build Confidence as a Mom in Business

As moms in business, we’ve all been there—those moments when self-doubt creeps in and we start questioning whether we’re doing enough, if our business is really “good enough,” or if we’re even cut out for all of this. It’s completely normal to feel that way sometimes. But here’s the truth: you are not alone in these feelings, and you are more than capable of overcoming them.

Today, I’m sharing three simple strategies that have helped me move past self-doubt and build more confidence in myself, my business, and my ability to juggle it all. The good news is that confidence isn’t something you’re born with—it’s something you can grow, and it begins with how you talk to yourself.

Reframe Your Inner Dialogue

It’s so easy to get caught up in negative self-talk. That inner voice can say things like, “I’m not good enough” or “Who am I to be doing this?” But that voice doesn’t serve you—it holds you back. The truth is, you are capable, you are learning, and you’re growing every single day.

To shift this, start paying attention to what your inner voice is saying. When you catch a negative thought, reframe it. Instead of, “I’m not good enough to do this,” try, “I’m learning, I’m figuring it out, and I’m doing my best.” Over time, these small changes help shift your mindset and strengthen your confidence.

Celebrate the Small Wins

As moms and business owners, we’re often so focused on what hasn’t been done that we forget to celebrate what we’ve already accomplished. There’s always more to do—but every step forward is a win worth acknowledging.

Take a moment to reflect on what you’ve achieved. Maybe you finished a project, launched something new, or simply made it through a busy week with your sanity intact. Write those wins down. Celebrate them. Recognizing your progress, no matter how small, will remind you that you’re moving forward—and that reminder is a huge confidence booster.

Surround Yourself With Support

Confidence grows so much easier when you don’t try to build it alone. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, believe in you, and offer encouragement when you need it. Juggling business and family can feel isolating, but when you’re part of a supportive community, you’ll quickly see how much more confident you can become.

If you don’t already have a group of like-minded moms or a mentor, it may be time to find one. Join a community where you can share struggles, ask questions, and celebrate wins together. Being surrounded by people who understand the journey makes all the difference in building confidence.

Building Confidence Every Day

Confidence is a journey. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about showing up, giving yourself grace, and recognizing the progress you’re making. Self-doubt will pop up from time to time, but with these strategies, you can quiet that voice and keep moving forward with more confidence every day.

If this resonated with you, be sure to subscribe to the Made by Motherhood Podcast for more practical advice and mindset strategies.
