Welcome to The Weekly Edit — a weekly snapshot of the small things shaping our days lately. Thoughtful rhythms at home, gentle mindset shifts, and everyday favorites that help life feel a little more grounded. Consider this your soft pause at the end of the week.
Something I’m Loving at Home
Lately, we’ve been in a pre-spring refresh mode — donating items we’re no longer using and simplifying our spaces. Every time we do this, I’m reminded how much lighter our days feel when there’s simply less to manage. Less to store, less to move from room to room, and fewer decisions competing for attention during already busy days.
One piece that’s been especially helpful is Ollie’s Carolina Kids play table in our sunroom/playroom. It has optional drawers for toy storage, which makes it easy to keep toys out of sight and reduce visual clutter in our main living space. The rest of her toys live upstairs in her playroom.
I’m a big believer in less being more — especially when it comes to reducing overwhelm. Fewer toys means fewer choices, calmer play, and a home that feels easier to maintain throughout the day.
Something I’m Wearing / Using
With how cold it’s been in Minnesota (The wind chill is going to be -40 degrees today!) my motivation for getting to in-person Pilates has been at an all-time low. Instead, I’ve been using the Bala x FORM weights alongside the FORM app for at-home workouts.
It’s been a really supportive alternative for this season, one that lets me move my body without needing to leave the house or overhaul my routine. A good reminder that consistency doesn’t have to look perfect to still count.
Something I’m Reading / Watching / Listening To
Our evenings have slowed in the best way lately.
We’ve been reading HabbiHabbi books together to help Ollie learn Spanish. They’re interactive, diverse in topic, and something we all genuinely enjoy. Right now, we’re especially interested in Maps of the World.
We’ve also started building in an hour of quiet time before Ollie’s bedtime — working on puzzles, building with Magnatiles, reading together, or lounging by the fireplace. It’s become such a calm, grounding way to end the day as a family, and it’s a part of each day I’ve been really savoring.
Something Worth Trying
This week, I started a new Instagram Reels series called “If I Can Do It, So Can You,” where I’m talking through the fears that held me back from content creation and building a personal brand online.
It’s been surprisingly grounding to revisit those fears and to name them out loud. Today’s theme is “What if I’m not original enough?” — a question I know so many of us quietly carry.
Creating this series has been a reminder that we’re all just learning as we go, no matter what stage we’re in. Confidence doesn’t usually come first… action does.
Something Inspiring Me
Lately, I’ve been sitting with the idea that every day is a fresh start.
As we get older, it can feel easier to stay set in our routines and ways of doing things. While I love routines for the balance they bring, I’m also feeling encouraged to try new things creatively and to push myself gently outside my comfort zone and explore what else I might be capable of.
Not by changing everything at once, but by staying curious. This week feels like a quiet invitation to begin again.
Each Weekly Edit is simply a snapshot of what’s resonating in my life right now, from motherhood and home to creativity, rest, and mindset. My hope is that this space feels grounding, honest, and easy to return to. A new edit will be here every Friday, always rooted in real life.
