During pregnancy, Ben and I compared several checklists to better ensure we’d have what we needed for Ollie’s arrival. Though we prepared as best we could, we had no way of knowing exactly which products Ollie would prefer — or products we’d truly love or find value in. Over the past 5 months, though, we’ve finally gotten the hang of what we need — and the products we value having. Today, I’m excited to share our changing table essentials!
Changing Table Essentials
Munchkin Changing Pad
While we originally used and loved our Hatch changing pad, Ollie is very tall for her age — so she quickly outgrew her changing pad. (She is so tall her arms and legs would knock everything over while we changed her!) Since then, we’ve begun using a Munchkin Changing Pad. We love how clean and simple its design is, and we especially value its wipeable surface and the grip pads on the bottom which prevent the changing pad from sliding around. Most importantly, it’s long enough to fit our tall and growing girl!
Plexi Diaper Caddy
This plexi diaper caddy is one of my favorite finds from Etsy! It serves as a stand for our wipe warmer and keeps all of our changing table essentials organized and easily accessible.
Munchkin Touch-Free Baby Wipe Warmer
We’ve really valued having a baby wipe warmer — especially a touch-free baby wipe warmer — for Ollie. When Ben changes her in the evenings, warm wipes are especially helpful for keeping Ollie comfortable and cozy.
Coterie Diapers
Having tried several diaper brands, we’ve come to find Coterie diapers are truly worth all the hype! They’re extremely soft (Cloth-like!) absorbent, and leak-proof. (Take $10 off your purchase at Coterie using my unique link here!)
Biom Wipes
Biom offers plant-based, non-toxic refillable wipes in the most beautiful containers. We have a monthly subscription for receiving new wipes, and we simply re-stock our containers; we have a green container in our kitchen and a pink container for Ollie’s changing table. Paume Hand Sanitizer
For quick hand sanitizing, we use the Paume Sanitize at Home Duo. I chose Paume’s sanitizer because it contains essential oils, is moisturizing, and has a more pleasant scent than other brands of hand sanitizer.
Cetaphil Daily Baby Lotion
Per our pediatrician’s recommendation, we use Cetaphil’s daily baby lotion. We had tried other brands, but Cetaphil has helped her skin to be clean, clear, and moisturized. It also has a really subtle and lovely scent.
Tubby Todd Diaper Paste
We love and use Tubby Todd for bathtime, and we’ve also found Tubby Todd’s diaper paste works really wonderfully, too! We don’t have to use it often because Coterie’s diapers are so effective — but it’s a product we love and value having!
Baby Nail Trimmer
We first chose Frida’s baby nail trimmer, but soon replaced it with Haaka’s baby nail trimmer. We love how Haaka’s baby nail trimmer comes with month-by-month files — and how replacement files can be purchased easily, too.
Baby Thermometer
On our changing table, we have both a touchless thermometer and a rectal thermometer. I value having both close on hand!
Electric Nasal Aspirator
This electric nasal aspirator is designed for ages 0 and up. It is user-friendly and easy-to-clean — which we really appreciate!
Conclusion
Over these past 5 months, I’ve learned there really is no substitute for experience — and for getting to know what works best for you and your baby. It’s been so much fun to get to know Ollie’s unique preferences and to discover what works best for her. I hope my checklist above serves as a great starting place for discovering which changing table products work well for you, too!
