Last week, Ben and I traveled to California to attend his cousin’s wedding in Camarillo! We took a long weekend to travel from Los Angeles to Camarillo, and we shared lots of adventures along the way! For a quick peek at all we did, here is a fun video:
Our journey began in Los Angeles, where we stayed at Farmer’s Daughter. Our hotel was super close — within walking distance — to The Grove and The Original Farmers Market. Both were really fun places!
We also visited the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, a free museum where we saw a Holocaust survivor speak. After going to Europe in 2016 and learning so much about the Holocaust from Germany to Czech Republic, it was a really life-changing experience to hear her story.
It’s not a Ben-and-Kelly-trip without visits to many coffee shops. We visited Verve Coffee Roasters in LA where I had some seriously amazing avocado toast.
On Friday, we drove up the PCH from Los Angeles to Malibu — and Malibu to Oxnard/Ventura/Camarillo. We stopped at Malibu Farm along the way for lunch, and it was easily one of my favorite stops. We had lunch on the pier, and it was so peaceful. The sun was shining, and it was the perfect day to experience a new place!
We continued up the coast to Oxnard — where we stayed at Embassy Suites by Hilton Mandalay Bay Resort, right on the ocean! We stayed in an oceanfront room, where we could hear the waves all day! It was really, really cold and really, really beautiful.
Our last full day in California was spent in Ventura and Camarillo. We stopped by Prospect Coffee Roasters in Ventura, where I tried a fall flavored latte! It was delicious. This coffee shop was, to me, quintessentially Californian. I loved it so, so much.
I’m so glad Ben and I had a chance to visit California, to celebrate alongside family, and to have a little spring break of our own!4
