I Was a Guest on Twin Cities Live Again: Love from Ollie + Our Ice Cream Tradition

There are moments in life that feel like a genuine pinch-me. Being asked back to Twin Cities Live for a second time was one of them.

When the invitation came, I was honestly so excited and honored. The first time I appeared on Twin Cities Live, it was one of the most meaningful professional moments I had experienced in my 13 years of blogging. So when they asked me to come back — this time to talk about organizing your home in a way that truly sparks joy — I felt so grateful and so ready.

The Segment — Feel Joy in Organizing

Spring is such a natural time for a reset. There’s something about the season changing that makes you want to open the windows, clear out the corners, and start fresh. But for so many people, the idea of organizing feels like an overwhelming task that gets put off indefinitely because it just doesn’t sound enjoyable.

That’s exactly what I wanted to address in this segment. Because I genuinely believe that organizing doesn’t have to feel that way. When you approach it with the right mindset — when you’re organizing for a feeling rather than a result — the whole experience shifts. It stops being about perfection and starts being about creating a home that supports you, calms you, and genuinely makes you happy to be in.

That’s the heart of everything I’ve been sharing through 30 Spaces in 30 Days, and it was such a joy to bring that conversation to a wider audience on Twin Cities Live. You can watch the full segment here.

Ben and Ollie Were There

Just like the first time, Ben and Ollie came with me, and having them there meant everything. When I woke Ollie up from her nap, she told me “Mama, you look so pretty in your dress. You must feel so excited to be on the news.” She’s such a sweet person, and her kind words are so special to me. Before my segment, she was cheering me on with the most wholehearted enthusiasm, telling me how proud she was of me, wrapping her little arms around me for the biggest hugs, and giving me high fives every chance she got. All afternoon, before and after the segment, the high fives and thumbs up kept coming.

I don’t have the words for what it feels like to have your child tell you they’re proud of you. It’s the kind of moment that rearranges something inside you. I will carry these moments with me for a very long time.

The Celebration

After the segment, just like last time, we headed straight to Malcolm Yards to celebrate. We got ice cream from Bebe Zito — which has officially become our Twin Cities Live tradition. When I asked Ollie what her favorite part of the whole day was, she didn’t hesitate for even a second. The ice cream, she said. Definitely the ice cream. (And she is not wrong. It was very good ice cream.)

What This Means to Me

Being invited back to Twin Cities Live feels like a reflection of all of it — the years of showing up, the willingness to be seen, the belief that what I share here actually matters to someone. It means more than I can say.

If you’re in a season where the work feels invisible or the progress feels slow, I hope this encourages you. Keep showing up. Keep sharing. The opportunities that feel meant for you have a way of finding you when you’re brave enough to stay visible.

Thank you for being here and for cheering me on right alongside Ollie. It means the world. 🌼
