One month ago, I had an opportunity to travel to Charleston, South Carolina for the Rising Tide Society’s Leaders Retreat. For the past several months, Andra and I have been leading TuesdaysTogether in Minneapolis – so when we learned the retreat would be an opportunity to connect with other TuesdaysTogether leaders, we jumped at the opportunity!
In a beautiful AirBnb, we stayed with our friends Tarah of Tarah Elise Photography, Kat of Dear Sweetheart Events and Creative at Heart Conference, and Hope of Hope Taylor Photography. We began the trip as friends, and we returned home feeling more like sisters — which is just one reason why I love conferences and retreats so much!
As I sat down to write about Charleston — what it’s like, and where we visited — all I could think is: Charleston has my heart! Charleston is a bright and beautiful place — from its colorful boutiques and beautiful houses to its delicious restaurants and friendly faces.
No trip to Charleston would be complete without a visit to Rainbow Row. Rainbow Row is a beautiful row of colorful houses. My dream is to have a pink office for With Grace and Gold — so I couldn’t help but daydream while visiting Rainbow Row.
All along King Street, there are beautiful boutiques and shops — including Moon and Lola, pictured below. Luckily, Moon and Lola has an online shop, because I definitely didn’t have enough room in my suitcase for everything I wanted to buy!
The College of Charleston is just off of King Street, and it is one of the most beautiful campuses I’ve ever seen. There are beautiful trees with Spanish moss and colorful buildings… so pretty!
On the last day of our trip, we walked around a few churches — all of which were so rich with history! It was really cool to visit such a historic place.
I absolutely loved visiting Charleston and will definitely hop on any opportunity I have to visit again… or to move there! ;-)
Have you ever been to Charleston? What is your favorite part?
